Interventionist

If you are seeking an interventionist than this is the place to come. Interventionnational.com is a site dedicated to helping families find a qualified interventionist to help their loved ones recover from alcohol and addiction.

What is an intervention?  Simply put, an intervention is the process of encouraging positive change in an individual through a drastic measure.  For instance if your loved on is addicted to cocaine and is unable to stop despite negative consequences and unmanageability present in his or her life, you may need an intervention.  An interventionist is called at this point and a meeting is scheduled with the family.   The family agrees upon a treatment center for treatment of drugs and or alcohol and certain parameters are set.  Next you set those parameters.  For example, the first question that comes up “What if my loved one says no?”  At this point the family agrees that no one will help the addict financially or in any other way until they agree to get help.  Other times the addict or alcoholic will threaten suicide or some other drastic measure in an effort to avoid going to long term treatment. It is important to remember that this is just a ploy, and to stand your ground.  Often times the addict will try to make a deal in exchange for something.  It is important to remember not to budge during this time, if you start making exceptions now, you will make exceptions later and soon enough you will make an exception for “Just one beer” or “just one bag of cocaine.”

Finding an interventionist can be a tedious process.  Through our referral service we will help you find the interventionst that is best suited for your loved one.
